Diabetes Education Center

The Diabetes Education Centres are committed to quality education and care of people with diabetes, in an ambulatory care (outpatient) setting, so that they may learn self-management skills and make lifestyle changes in order to:

• effectively manage diabetes
• prevent or delay complications
• achieve self-defined optimal health
• improve quality of life.

Description of services:

• Individual (one-to-one) counseling
• Group educational sessions (classes)
• Gestational diabetes program
• Outpatient commencement of insulin
• Grocery shopping tours
• Education and presentations to the community

The Diabetes Education Centers work in partnership with:

Canadian Diabetes Association, Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, Diabetes Association Brooks and District, and the Southern Alberta Renal Program.
